Roy D. Jeffcoat of Onalaska passed away on April 19, 2012. He was born on February 5, 1949 in Houston and grew up in Crosby. Roy retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in Houston following a lengthy career as a human resources manager, retiring to Lake Livingston where he enjoyed boating and fishing. Roy was a kind and generous man, always ready to help friends and neighbors. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Royal Ottis Jeffcoat. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joyce Becher of Onalaska; his mother, Alta Joyce Jeffcoat; sisters, Peggy Barron and Bity Speir; and brother, Lanny Jeffcoat of Crosby; daughter, Christina Jeffcoat of Houston; son, Scott Douglas Jeffcoat of Dallas; daughters, Holly Goldstein of League City, Amanda Martin of Damon, and Amber Gentz of Livingston; grandchildren, Sierra Becher, Breanna Jeffcoat, and Connor Goldstein. The family will hold a private memorial to celebrate Roy' life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Polk County.
