Roy Porter West was born 2/27/1930 in Safford Alabama. Roy moved to Houston and eventually settled in Austin Texas to work for Frostex Foods in the early sixties. Roy retired from Frostex as Vice President of Operations. Roy loved wood working, BBQ''ing, cooking and fishing. Roy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed travel, people watching and spoiling his only granddaughter.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Thelma West, his wife Inez, his sisters Louise, Audrey, Carolyn and Mary Jane.
Roy is survived by son Roy Jr. and wife Laure, granddaughter Kerri of Smithville,Tx.brothers Raymond Jr. of Equality,Al, Bobby (Marie) of Meridian, Ms, Richard (Janice) of Atlantic, Ga. Sisters Peggy (Jack) Farris of Livingston, Tx, Thelma Pitts of Dadeville, Al, Jean Gilley of Selma, Al, Judy (Dick) Bell of Jacksonville, Al. Special friend of the family Betty Vanya of Livingston, Tx. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville Texas. July Bell will conduct the service.
