Rubin Anson Cox 81 of Livingston passed away Monday May 4, 2009 in the Timberwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Thursday May 7, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Bracken and Rev. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery.
Rubin was born March 14, 1928 in Polk County to parents Fred O. Cox and Gladys Taylor Cox. He was a United States Veteran serving in the United States Army. Rubin married Aubrey Bernice Sanders Cox on March 31, 1951 Cedar Bayou, Texas. He was the minister of Holly Grove Baptist Church for 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Hubert Cox, and son Rubin Cox Jr.
Rubin is survived by his wife Audrey C. Cox of Livingston, son Randy Alton Cox and wife Rhonda of Livingston, daughter Rebecca Kelley and husband Charles of Livingston, grandchildren Lisa Ann Vick, Stacy Hindsman, Travis Hoover, and Clinton Cox, great grandchildren Maci Vick, Colton Vick, Jacob Vick, Macala Hindsman, Matthew Hindsman, Brody Hoover, and Ashton Cox. He is also survived by his sisters Edith Steagall and husband Butch of Livingston, Dorothy Smith of Nederland, Marylene Luther and husband Wayne of Atlanta, Ga.and sister in law Sidney Cox. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Sales, Travis Hoover, Clinton Cox, Ben Hindsman, David Smith, and Kenneth Cox.
