IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby Jewel
Ogden Loftin
March 29, 1936 – November 22, 2017
Funeral services for Ruby Jewel Ogden Loftin were held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Cochran Funeral Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
Ruby was born in Gravelly, Arkansas, to parents John Henry Ogden and Maggie Jewel (Johnson) Ogden and passed away on November 22, 2017, in Livingston, Texas.
Ruby was a faithful servant in many facets. As long as she was able, she would volunteer to bring her music to anyone who would listen. From nursing homes to the Ogden Jubilee, she was known for her great talents and sweet heart.
Family was at her core. Onalaska was never the same after the Ogden family arrived. Her love of family and friends will be one of her lasting legacies. She touched many lives and will be forever missed. God just doesn't make many with the sacrificial heart she had for people. She mothered numerous lives.
Many will also remember Ruby for her seamstress abilities. Whether making clothes for her children, curtains for her window coverings or a new dress, sewing was another of her many talents.
She was a strong woman, always willing to work and do what she had to do, to make sure her children had whatever they needed. She sold cars for years, worked as an aide at school in the Special Education class and had many other jobs along the way.
She also served her church and community, working elections, volunteering in various outlets including teaching Sunday School, teaching sewing classes and teaching Vacation Bible School for many, many years. She was honored by the Business and Professional Women's organization as Woman of the Year in 1984.
Ruby left a long list of family, each in their own way touched by her working hands and loving heart. She was, and will forever be, loved and missed. Her legacy will live on in many ways. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
