Funeral services for Ruth Spurlock, 104, of Cleveland, Texas, will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Kenneth Coleman and Rev. Fred Alford officiating. Interment will be held at the Younge Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Spurlock was born August 20, 1910 in Navarro County, Texas, to parents, Eugene Slaughter and Bamma (McLaroy) Slaughter, and passed away April 29, 2015 in Kingwood, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Sam Wesley Peden and Tom W. Spurlock; grandchildren, Larry Farmer, Wesley McClintock, Jamie (Peden) Foster; great-grandchildren, Charles Lee Foster and Donald Pait; four brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Brandon of Livingston, Texas, Wanda Farmer of Cleveland, Texas, Sylvia Dorman of Brandon, Mississippi; sons, Charles Peden of Haleyville, Alabama and Tom Spurlock of Palmer, Alaska; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
