Services for Sammy Austin Maxey, 80, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Leslie Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be held on the day of service, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Sammy was born August 2, 1944 in Camden, Texas and passed away August 10, 2024 in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Preston Maxey and Eunice Wilma (Broaddus) Maxey; brothers, JW Maxey and Jerry Maxey; and sister, Mary Black.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Maxey of Corrigan, Texas; daughter, Angie Putnam and husband Scott of Baytown, Texas; and grandsons, Bryce Putnam of Baytown, Texas and Justyn Putnam of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
