Funeral services for Sammy Lane Stringer, age 78 of Livingston, TX will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Interment will follow at Peebles Cemetery. Rev. Hoy Leach, Jr. will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be Willy Ray Howell, Dan Robinson, Sidney ""Spook"" Stringer, Scott Stringer, Richard Gatlin, Corbin Gatlin and Justin Falkenbury. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Sammy was born in Camden, Texas on January 24, 1934 to parents, Henry Taylor Stringer and Eva (Childree) Stringer. He served in the US Army. He was married to Mary Stringer.

Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Taylor and Eva Stringer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Stringer of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in law, Luan and Richard Gatling of Montgomery, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Sidney ""Spook"" and Lorie Stringer, of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jonell Stringer, of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren: Corbin Gatlin, Leila Gatlin, Courtney Lane and Justin Falkenbury, Amanda Koenig-Reed, Rachel Kyle, Brittany Rollo, Derrin Underwood, Ashtyn Fregia and Tyler Belsha; and great grandchildren: Dandridge Gray Koenig-Reed, Braylenn Grace Falkenbury, and Reece Eugene Kyle; and a host of friends.
