Funeral services for Samuel Stephen Alaniz, 26, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Good Shepherd Baptist church in Shepherd, Texas and will be officiated Bro. Larry Albritton. Interment will follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Samuel was born March 9, 1996 in Cleveland, Texas to his parents, Joel Rene Alaniz and Benita Gail Posey, and passed away December 13, 2022 in Shepherd, Texsa. He is preceded by Samuel P Alaniz, Samuel David Alaniz, Joel Stephen Alaniz, Juanita Richards, and Hubert C. Richards.

He is survived by his mothers, Benita Posey and Carla Alaniz both of Shepherd, Texas; father, Rene Alaniz of Shepherd, Texas; sisters, Jessica Perez of Hutto, Texas, Tiffany Alaniz of Alpine, Texas, and Shantell Alaniz of Shepherd, Texas; brothers, Ethan Alaniz and Chad Alaniz, both of Shepherd, Texas; stepsiblings, Thomas Franklin, Chance Ortiz, and Carmen Hammond, all of Shepherd, Texas; nana, Carylon Sue Franklin of Shepherd, Texas; nanny/aunt, Sherry Dickens of Shepherd, Texas; uncle, Tommy Phillips of Shepherd,Texas; nieces and nephews, Brianna Ochoa, Gabriella Lara, Marc Lara, Michael, Chase Lane, Alexa Kirchner, Braylen Kirchner, Colton Alaniz, Ella Alaniz, Owen Alaniz, Kade Alaniz, Kipton Alaniz, McKinzy Franklin, Rily Franklin, Landon Ortiz, Braydon Ortiz, Holden Ortiz, Kallie Hammond, Karoline Hammond, and Carter Hammond; and life-long friend, Demi Nguyen; as well as numerous other family members, friends and loved ones.
