IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sarah Lee
Hamilton
June 13, 1936 – April 17, 2025
Sarah Lee Kerr Hamilton was born June 13, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee. Her father was Claude E. Kerr and Mother Hazel Christine Nance. Sarah was raised by Claude and Mildred Kerr. She had one sister Nancy, who passed away in 2023.
Sarah married Jere Wayne Hamilton on June 8, 1957, whom she met while both were attending Memphis State College. Jere, having spent his last two years as a college Air Force Cadet, was sworn in as an USAF 2nd Lieutenant upon graduation. Sarah spent 20 years traveling the world as an officer's wife, raising three girls: Terry Rene Hamilton, Kristy Kay Collins, Stacy Lee Jordan. The family settled in San Antonio, TX in the early seventies.
Retirement came, and Sarah and Jere were able to travel a lot with Jere's siblings.
Their once-a-year vacations enabled them to tour the United States and spend valuable time with extended family.
Her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, are: Sara Rene Barnett, Jena Elaine Arami, Hayden Paul Collins, Chase Hamilton Collins.
In 2005, Sarah and Jere moved to their dream retirement home on Lake Livingston.
Here the family gathered for all holidays, enjoying family time, and of course the Lake.
In 2007, Sarah suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak but a few words. Jere cared for her for 18 years. She was still able to travel some, and enjoyed the time with her children and grandchildren. Thank God, she had an amazing man that stood by her side.
This March, she suffered from congestive heart failure, leaving her with only 35% lung capacity. She died peacefully, at home, April 17, 2025. In June she would have been 89 years old.
We know she is at peace and now under the care of our Lord.
