Services for Schevie Layfette Slayden, 37, of Goodrich, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Schevie was born October 12, 1985 in Houston, Texas and passed away July 21, 2023 in Coldspring, Texas. He loved being barefoot in the yard while working on his project cars with tools in hand, bow fishing, cooking, and anything fast and was a car audio enthusiast. Schevie, always the life of the party, loved his family, his kids and helping people.

He is survived by his loving wife, Macie Slayden; son, Gavin Slayden; daughters, Aubrie Slayden and Schayne Slayden; and unborn baby Slayden, all of Goodrich, Texas; mother, Rebecca Dupree; brother, Schawn Slayden; and sister-in-law, Andrea Slayden, all of Coldspring, Texas; and bonus mom; Melanie Satterly; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Gavin Slayden, T-Bo Lairscey, Cody Sims, Ashton Newsome, Dillon Willis, Patrick McMullin, Richard Holcombe and Jack Jacobs.
