Services for Scott Nickson Cain, 49, will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. A Celebration of Life / Memorial services in Pilot Point, Texas on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.
Scott was born March 7, 1974 in Lufkin, Texas and passed away November 23, 2023 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roland N. Cain; grandfather, Paul David Evans, and grandmother, Violet Jo Evans.
Scott was raised and educated in the Schools of Livingston, Texas; from 1980-1986, Pilot Point, Texas 1986-1991 and Slidell, Texas 1992-93 where he received outstanding defensive player of the year. He then graduated from high school from Livingston High School in 1993.
He married Jamie Burbank April 24, 1993. In this union, he was blessed with three precious daughters: Erin, Haven and Mica. He served our country in the US Navy until he was injured in1997, thus having to retired where he was awarded eight medals of service.
Scott also worked in Kirby Vacuum Sales receiving a number of awards, as well as working several years in the Insurance Industry along with his Father.
Scott loved to hunt, fish and coon hunt with his father and his friends, he was a happy, joyful person and most of all giving a person, as the old saying goes, "the shirt off of his back". At age 14, Scott accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and SAVIOR as a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters, Erin N. Cain, Haven N. Cain, and Mica N. Cain, all of Aubrey, Texas; granddaughter, Brayla Cain Rodriguez of Aubrey, Texas; former spouses, Brandi Roberts of Arkansas and Jamie Cain Reynolds of Aubrey, Texas; father and stepmother, R. Nick "Nicky" Cain and Shirley Jean Cain of Pilot Point, Texas; mother, Janice Evans Cain Keck of Livingston, Texas; sisters, Shannon Cain Slater of Pilot Point, Texas and Candace Cain Thrower of Cypress, Texas; stepbrothers, Steven Cowling of Pilot Point, Texas and Jeff Cowling of Valley View, Texas; aunt, Brenda McDowell of Richmond, Virginia; uncle, David Evans of Moscow, Texas; aunts, Sandra Evans Coker and Debra Bailey of Perryville, Arkansas; uncle, Richard Hal Cain of Moss Hill, Texas; and grandmother, Vernell Cain of Pilot Point, Texas; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A huge empty hole is left in our hearts as he gave us so much joy and happiness in his 49 years here on earth. We are so thankful to the Lord for giving him to us and we will see him again. Our Blessed Hope is in Jesus Christ. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
