After pursuing several different career paths, including being a police officer in Diboll, Sherman became a mail carrier in Livingston for 24 years. After his retirement from the USPS, he found his passion in driving a school bus for LISD.
Sherman and Shirley raised their family in Livingston, where he volunteered and served at First Baptist Church in the Bus Ministry as well as a boys Sunday School class. Other community involvement included coaching little league and girls softball and assisting his children with 4-H and FFA projects.
Sherman is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Shirley; their 4 children, Melissa Sanderson of Livingston, Stephanie Vincent and husband, Sean of Kingwood, Kyle Jackson and wife, Neva of Livingston, and Kenzie Burch and husband, Jeremy of Cleburne; grandchildren, Ryan Sanderson (25), Jackson Vincent (19), Avery Vincent (17), Bryanne Jackson (12), Audrie Jackson (11), Hudson Vincent (11), and Guyton Jackson (5); and brothers, David Jackson and wife, Denise of Livingston, and Terry Jackson and wife, Linda of Crosby; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended families and friends.
