Funeral services for Shirley Fern Alonso, 73, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alonso was born January 11, 1945 in Wilmington, North Carolina, to parents, Wendell Malpass and Bessie Marie (Adams) Malpass, and passed away October 24, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jose "Trey" Alonso III; sister, Brendell Solomon; and brother, Colby Graham Malpass.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Alonso of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Monica Munson and husband, Edward of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Daniel Jose Munson of Nacogdoches, Texas; granddaughter, Isabella Christina Munson of Magnolia, Arkansas; sisters, Marilyn Nelson of Onalaska, Texas, and Kyra Tangedahl and husband, Dan of Conroe, Texas; sisters-in-law, Teresa Alonso of Houston, Texas, and Judi Alonso of Rosenberg, Texas, brothers-in-law, Fred Alonso, John Alonso, and Lambert Alonso all of Houston, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
