A memorial service for Shirley May (Reed) Nix, 72, of Point Blank, Texas, will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Louie Matthews officiating.

Mrs. Nix was born June 23, 1941 in Syracuse, New York, to parents, Charles and Josephine (Bonner) Reed and passed away on May 16, 2014 in Point Blank, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Penny Sue Warren; brothers, Lindon Reed, Donald Reed, Leslie Reed, and William Reed; and sister, Juanita Reed.

Mrs. Nix is survived by her husband, Ritchie Nix of Point Blank, Texas; daughters, Cindy Hoffart of Klein, Texas, Sandra Samples of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Lee Ann Matthews of Point Blank, Texas; step-son, Carry Nix of Santa Fe, Texas; sister, Carol Parker of Central Square, New York; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
