Obituary

Sidney D. Moffett, Age 55, went to sleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 31, 2011. He was born at Pasadena General Hospital in Pasadena, Texas on August 27, 1956 to Luther D. and Avis Moore Moffett who have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his Pappaw Kacaska and Mammaw Katie Rebecca Sheffield Moore, Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, John D. and Lola Mae Turner Morton, Uncles, Red, Goose, Judge Sheffield, C. L. and Coscobe Moore and Aunt, Clara Moore, Grandmother and Grandfather, Francis and Francis Moffett and his father Luther D. Moffett' siblings, Cousin, Frank Hood and his Sister-In-Law, Molly L. Foster and Brothers-In-Law, Delbert Bartley and David Allen Morton.

He survived by his Wife of 34 years, Deborah Morton Moffett, Daughters, Angela Moffett Knittel and husband Andrew of Goodrich, Texas, and Jennifer Moffett Murphy and husband Charles (Chuck) of Diana, Texas, Grandchildren, Jorginah and Luther Murphy of Diana, Texas, and Deborah and Joseph Knittel of Goodrich, Texas, Sister, Lajuana and husband Timothy Adams of Casper, Wyoming, and her children, Rebecca, Benjamin, Rachel and Noah Adams, Uncles, James (Turk) C. Moore, Sr., and Aunt, Jolene, Loy (Putney) Moore and Aunt, Mary, all of Livingston, Texas, Brother-In-Law, John B. Morton and family, Windle Dow Morton and wife Rebecca Trent Morton and family of Morrow, Ohio, Sisters-In-Law, Mary Ann McDaniel of Onalaska, Texas, Viola (Vickie) Stover and husband Nelson of League City, Texas, Cathy Gregson and husband David of Onalaska, Texas, Sister-In-Law, Brenda and Larry Cain of Morrow, Ohio, Patty Scarbrough of Potaw, Oklahoma, Flora and Martin Woods of Somerset, Kentucky, Nichol Morton and Chris of Mississippi, Brother-In-Law, Clifford Foster, Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, Special Cousins, Buddy, Robert, and Delbert Moffett, all of Livingston, Texas. Numerous other cousins, nephews, and nieces, too many to name, he loved you all.

Family of First Baptist Church of Providence and the community who are celebrating his final journey from this earth but missing him in Christian love. Special Mention: Cousin Judy Moore Issaacs for playing piano, Arnold and Barbara Oliver who worked out of love for Sidney to provide singing and coordination of food. Also Edie Walters, Cousin and Charles (Joey) Green and family both loved and in our family fold.

Pallbearers: James Moore, Jr., Mark Moore, Jeff Parkman, Tre Page, Jimmy Ward, Kevin Bowyer, Richard Lambert, Sheriff Henry Patterson. Honorary Pallbearers: David Moore, Martin Woods, John B. Morton, Nelson Stover, Marine Sgt. Benjamin Adams (nephew) and Army Sgt. Michelle Woods (niece) and the men of First Baptist Church of Providence.

Sidney served in the Air Force as a fabrication specialist. At the time of passing Sidney was currently employed by Pilot Catastrophe for Allstate Insurance as an adjuster in Western Pennsylvania.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Providence with Pastor Michael Hauerman officiating. Interment following in the Peebles Cemetery with Military Honors being provided by VFW Post # 8568 and with Brandon Parkman playing Taps.
