Obituary

Stanley L. Lindsey, 76, of Livingston, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at the Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit in Lufkin, Texas with family by his side.

Stan was born on July 30, 1935, in Devine, Texas where he grew up and met his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Kathryn Evans Lindsey. He was respected by all as a man of integrity who was honest and hardworking. Stan was a loving husband, father and papaw. His 40 year career with Shell Oil Company took him all over the world, from Texas and Louisiana to Central America, Brazil and China. Above all, he loved God and led by example with a life that embodied service and love.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, George and ""Dene"" Lindsey, brother, Curtis Lindsey and granddaughter, Kayti Gothard. He is survived by his wife Kathryn, his daughters and their spouses, Audrey and Tim DeBord of Houston, Suzanne and James Witherspoon of Livingston, and Lorie and Robert Lindsey of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Kelly and Angel Ortega of Lufkin, Tamara and John Marberry of Livingston, Dexter Gothard of Houston, Kristen and Ambus Lofton of Lufkin, Austin DeBord of Port Aransas, Amanda DeBord of Hammond, La, Caitlyn Lindsey of Lufkin, and Sam Lindsey of Lufkin; his great-grandchildren, Kaela Marberry, Maliah Dionne, Anissa Lofton, Madisyn Marberry, and Emeren Marberry; Siblings, Sister and Brother-in-law Georgie and Bob Sansom of Wrangell, Alaska, Brother and Sister-in-law, Arlen and Judy Lindsey of Kerrville, Sister and Brother-in-law, Elsie and Dan Benson of Beaumont and Sister-in-law, Evelyn Lindsey of San Antonio, and numerous other loving family and friends.



Visitation: Saturday, March 31, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home.

Funeral services: Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Schwab City Baptist Church with Pastor David Jones presiding.

Interment: Holly Grove Cemetery
