Obituary

Stanford Joseph Laviolette Jr, of Livingston, Texas, passed away at the age of 67, on December 16, 2018.

He was a well-known crewmember of his son, Ken Laviolette's, restaurant, My Place Eatery, in Livingston. He could be found there early in the morning prepping for the day and giving the crew a hard time. He always had a wisecrack for anyone willing to listen. Stan had a love for the outdoors that he passed on to his two sons, Stan and Ken Laviolette. Grandkids, his dog Molly, hunting, fishing, and good ole country music, were some of his loves.

He had a gift for construction and building. He had the privilege of working with several family construction ventures, Parsons Construction, Brown and Root, and most recent, Langston Construction of Lufkin Texas. Some of his handiwork can be seen in the Vanderbilt and Rockefeller mansions, which he had a hand in remodeling, the rebuilding of the iconic domed Pleasant Grove missionary Baptist Church in Houston after the fire in 1994. Locally his passion for construction was carried out in the building of Lufkin, Jennings Station Transportation Center and Livingston's very own First Baptist Church.

Stanford Joseph Laviolette Jr was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Wenzel Laviolette, his father, Stanford Joseph Laviolette Sr, sister, Patricia Faye Laviolette , and brother, David Keith Laviolette.

He is survived by: his siblings, Carl Wayne Laviolette, Bruce Allen Laviolette, Ocie Lorraine McNatt, and Pamela Ruth Marquis; his two sons, Ken Laviolette and grandson Landon Laviolette of Livingston, and Stan Laviolette, wife Chrissy, and grandchildren Reagan, Paige, Andrew, and Davis Laviolette of Pollok.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." ~ Matthew 11:28-30 ~
