Steve was born August 24, 1946 in Dangerfield, Texas to parents, Raymond and Mary Roach, and passed away September 23, 2020 in Madisonville, Texas. He was married to Pat Roach for 32 years. After he served his debt to society, he became a very productive citizen for the Kingdom of God. He served faithfully as a chaplain's assistant for the Polunsky Unit, sharing Jesus Christ with those on death row. After his service at the Polunsky Unit, he volunteered his time to the House of Hope ministry for 8 years, where he discipled men over-coming life's problems for Jesus Christ. His ministry also includes Kairos and Emaus and Tres Dias and Sports Reach Softball Ministry where is served with wife, Pat Roach.
Steve was an avid fan of sports. He loved his family, children, and grandchildren unconditionally. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Roach of Livingston; daughter, Kimberly Wright of Livingston; son, Raymond Smelley of Livingston; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Roach of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, Buba Seagroves of Livingston, Ronnie Roach and Donnie Roach both of Dallas; sister, Karen Archer of Dallas; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; caretaker, Logan Foust of College Station; and brother in the Lord, Pastor Brad Brock of Madisonville; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
The men at the House of Hope have suffered a great loss, along with his grandbabies, but Heaven has gained a faithful servant. Job well done my good and faithful servant.
