Obituary

Mr. Stuart Lee Jones, 69, of Livingston, Texas was born December 21, 1951 in Glendale, California to parents, Leeland Jones and Dorothy (Taylor) Jones, and passed away June 1, 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jackie Jones; brother, Ralph Jones; mother-in-law, Justine Lewis; and fur baby, Winni.

During his life, Stuart was a dedicated public servant. He started his 29+ year firefighting career in 1971 with the L.A. County Fire Service. On March 1, 1974 Stuart began working with the Glendale Fire Department. 27 faithful years later on Christmas Day in 2001, he retired as Fire Captain. In 1977, he was honored as Fireman of the Year. There is no doubt that Stuart had a public servant's heart. Even in his retirement, he enjoyed (and loved!) helping anyone he could. After his retirement, Stuart and Lori sold their home and hit the road. He absolutely loved the RV-ing lifestyle and, at the time of his passing, was 6 states short of seeing all of the United States and Canada. He was a member of First Baptist Church since his arrival in Livingston in 2006. Stuart also loved watching his Turner Classic Movies and of course, Western movies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Lori Jones of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Ashleigh Newcomb of New Braunfels, Texas; great-grandsons, Sage Newcomb and Trilliam Newcomb; sisters, Nadine Manghelli and husband, Bill of Elmira, Oregon, and Connie Villasenor and husband, Ray of Canyon Country, California; brothers, Brian Jones and wife, Debbie of Palmdale, California, and Keith Jones and wife, Julie of Big Bear, California; father-in-law, Ed Lewis and wife, Jean of Cornville, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Linda Hogsett and husband, John of Sedona, Arizona, and Connie Lexin of Sedona, Arizona; and brother-in-law, Jim Lewis of Costa Mesa, Arizona; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, church family, RV family, and other close friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be posted at a later date.
