Memorial services for Susan Jean Rodgers, 67, of Coldspring, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Dalton Curry officiating the service.

She was born on September 20, 1943 in Coffeeville, Kansas to Charles Edward Lingle and Cora Jean Hepner Lingle and passed away on July 24, 2011 in Coldspring, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Lingle and Cora Jean Hepner Lingle.

Susan worked for many years for the Palais Royal Department Store franchise. She also did an abundance of volunteer work in her community in Coldspring where she offered many hours to the public library and to the Senior Center where they could increase the productivity to the meals on wheels program.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Rodgers, daughter, Kelli Smith-Hendrix and husband John, son, Trevor Smith and wife Trina, brother, Chuck Lingle, sisters-in-law, Karen Glover and Lynett Rodgers, step-daughter, Shelley Phillips and husband Steven, mother-in-law, Kelli Allison, brother-in-law, Billy Rodgers, grandsons, Tory Nunn and Lex Hendrix, granddaughters, Sydnee Bruenn and Gabrielle Bruenn, grandsons, Amber Smith, Brent Smith, and Cameron Smith, step-grandchildren,Jack and Jace Phillips. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
