Obituary

Susie Mack Tipton was born on July 1, 1942 to Ollie Dee Spann and William Murphy in Livingston, Texas.  She passed away on July 23, 2022 at the beautiful age of 80, in the presence of her daughters and with loved ones continually by her side. Most knew her as "Sue", mom, nanny or mawmaw, or as her siblings like to call her Blanche (from Golden Girls). She had five children:  the late Nolan "Bubba" Tipton Jr. and wife Joy; Susie Adkins and late husband Richard "Ricky"; Brenda Russell and husband Steve; Jeanette Rogers and husband Lee; and Nolan C Tipton IIII. She was blessed to have numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Sue was also blessed with amazing lifelong friends and siblings that truly loved her.

She was married to Nolan (N.C. or "Tip") Tipton for 61 years when he passed. They were in love from the beginning and they were each other's ultimate gift. Their love endured challenges, but it was no match for their love and devotion to one another. She had been waiting to rejoin her "Honey" again in heaven.

Sue loved to cook (from scratch) and her pies were absolutely amazing. If it wasn't made from scratch with the perfect meringue it was not worth eating she would say. She often said "that crusts has to be made from scratch" and with Crisco only. She said "if it doesn't look good it won't taste good". Sue loved making chicken dumplings, and beans and cornbread; only southern cooking at its finest came from her kitchen. She was the ultimate caregiver and took amazing care of all of us our entire lives.

Sue had a blessed life and when she became ill she said, "I have had a wonderful life and I am ready when God takes me home." Although we will miss our mom, grandparent, sibling or friend; rest assured she is at peace and now: moving furniture around in heaven, cleaning everything in sight; playing dominoes, skip Bo, or marbles; and most of all seeing her "honey", son, mom and many other loved ones now. She was everything from feisty to pure sweetness all in one beautiful lady.
