Funeral services for Teddy Lee Everitt, 73, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Byron Lyons officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Everitt was born August 18, 1944 in Houston, Texas to parents, William Everitt and Juanita (Black) Everitt, and passed away on October 25, 2017 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Teddy was a member of the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department serving as firefighter, Fire Marshall and Emergency Medical Technician. Teddy also served as City Marshal in Onalaska, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Brenda Lander.
Mr. Everitt joined the Polk County sheriff's Department, served in several positions including Chief Deputy under Sheriff Joe Nettles and served as Polk County Sheriff from 1980 until 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Everitt of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Stacey Everitt Freeman of Huntsville, Texas; step-daughter, Rebecca Montemayor of Spring, Texas; step-daughter, Amanda Felder of Huffman, Texas; granddaughter, Cortney Largent and Shelton Largent of Centerville, Texas; grandson, Reggie Montemayor Jr. of Spring, Texas; grandson, Brenden Montemayor of Spring, Texas; grandson, Kendrick Felder of Huffman, Texas; grandson, Kurtis Felder of Huffman, Texas; great-grandson, Tucker Largent of Centerville, Texas; and sister, Debbie Benjamin of Denver, Colorado; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
