Terry Jeanne Horton 65 of Leggett passed away June 23, 2008 in Lufkin. A memorial service will be Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glenn Price officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Terry was born December 9, 1942 in FT. Worth to parents Marvin D. and Doris Munnerlyn Armstrong. After graduating from Valentine High School she then worked in the Big Bend National Park and then later worked in the family business in Leggett which was the Dairy Hut. She also wrote the Leggett Life in the Polk County Enterprise for 34 years. Terry married Henry Horton in 1965 to that union their only child was born Cynthia Horton. She was a member of the East Side Church of Christ in Del Rio, Tx.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her only child Cynthia Horton of Leggett, sister Janie Sholar of Ranger, brother Don Longwood of Redding, Ca., nephews Christopher Sholar of Decatur, Courtney Sholar of Ranger, Don Longwood Jr. of Redding, Ca., and niece Kellye Blakely of Reddings, Ca. She is also survived by her special friend Janice Peden of Wells.
