Obituary
Funeral services for Tommy Lynn Smith, 72, of Chester, Texas, will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Chuck McLaurin officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Priarie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Smith was born June 15, 1942 in Big Springs, Texas to parents, Forrest Bowley Smith and Willie Mae (Ligon) Smith, and passed away October 3, 2014 in Chester, Texas. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and worked for many years as a field supervisor for Comstock Oil and Gas and he retired on June 15, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bobby Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Naomi Sue (Tharp) Smith of Chester, Texas; daughter, Syleenia Gilman of Fort Worth, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Forest and Martie Smith of Livingston, Texas; son-in-law, Kevin Gilman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Trevor Gilman of Arlington, Texas, Ambyr Capps of Fort Worth, Texas, Lance Smith, Hailey Smith, Trinity Smith, Lillie Smith, and Cade Parrish all of Livingston, Texas; great grandson, Ryker Capps of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Johnny Smith of Waco, Texas, and Emory Smith of Forney, Texas; sister, Sally Carruth of Andrews, Texas; 3 nephews; 11 nieces; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Kevin Gilman, Trevor Gilman, Lance Smith, Cade Parrish, Logan Smith, Chase Capps, Jerry Tharp, John Smith, Waylon Smith.
