Graveside services for Tommy "Pete" Nelson, 94, of Goodrich, Texas, will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Tom Owen officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the procession leaves at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Nelson was born June 11, 1926 in Goodrich, Texas to parents, William Richard Nelson and Bertie Dee (Hill) Nelson, and passed away May 12, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, Mr. Nelson proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Muriel Nelson; son, Steve Nelson; and brother, Gordy Nelson.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Nelson of Goodrich, and Scott Nelson and wife, DaWanda of Goodrich; daughter, Debbie Nelson Darwin and husband, Todd of Bayou Vista; daughter in law Priss Nelson of Dripping Springs, grandchildren, Kristell Nelson Carr and husband Michael, Josh Nelson and wife, Katey, Sarah Dodd and husband, JD, Melissa Reiss and husband, Kyle, Magen Rutland and husband, TJ, Mark Lovell and fiancé Araceli, Rachel Moreno, David Levingston and wife, Carly, Mike Levingston and wife Erika, Claire Hahn and husband, Matt, Nikki Moore and husband, Brent, and Paige Layton and husband, BeeJay; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Owen, Faye Landrum, Gloria Landrum, and Linda Langston and husband, James; and brother, Bill Nelson and wife, Kathy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Pallbearers: Hershel Valentine, Paul Valdarez, Rickey Landrum, Craig Langston, Clayton Clark, Randy Nelson, Timmy Landrum, Rodney Landrum
