Services for Myrtie Vaudene Gates, 85, of Goodrich, Texas will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Billy Dool and Sister Theresa Sechelski officiating. Interment will follow at Holhausen-Darby Cemetery in Moscow, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Vaudene was born August 14, 1938 in Leggett, Texas and passed away November 17, 2023 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded by her husband, Lee Roy Gates; parents, Forrest Ido Smith and Edith Elizabeth (Ward) Smith; brother, Glen Smith; and sister, Enid McKey.

She is survived by her daughter, Thresa Hance and husband Gregory of Livingston, Texas; son, Allen Gates and wife Melissa of Goodrich, Texas; daughter, Karla Gates of Livingston, Texas; brother, Audrey Smith and wife Connie of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Dwayne Tolar and wife Tina, Ryan Tolar and wife Brandy, Roman Tolar and wife Rachel, Brittanie Quinn, Joshua Gates, and Deirdre Gates and fiancé AJ; great grandchildren, Abby Tolar and partner James Karg, Anthony Tolar, Tara Tolar and partner Tyler Sample, Taylor Tolar, Sandra Tolar, Kaleigh Tolar, Logan Tolar and Lindsey Quinn; and great-great grandson, Easton Tucker; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
