IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Verjean Mary
Burgoon
December 20, 1929 – September 26, 2021
Verjean Mary Burgoon, known as Jean to her friends and family, died peacefully in her sleep on September 26, 2021, at the age of 91.
Jean is survived by her son, Ken and his wife Cheri; their four daughters, Wendi, Ginger, Kimberly, and Tessa; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "Ray" Burgoon, Sr and her siblings: Gail Collins, Faye Newcomer, Ruth Books, Velma Warner, Earl Little, Hazel Miller, and Nile Little.
Jean was born in Pennsylvania, on December, 20, 1929 to the late Harry and Zora Little, nee Smith. She attended school in Biglerville, Pennsylvania. Later she worked at Shell Oil for 30 years, even joining the company bowling league. On February 18, 1951, she married Kenneth Ray Burgoon. On February 1, 1952, they had their only child, a son, Kenneth Ray Burgoon Jr.
Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother. She never missed a chance to see her granddaughters' performances: from beginner ballet thru college dance, from kindergarten graduation to Master's graduation; from marriages to birth of great grandchildren she was always there. She enjoyed playing bridge and frequently attended game nights at her local country club. She took trips abroad with her friends and traveled domestically with her family. She also enjoyed golfing, both playing with her friends and watching on TV with her family. She will be sorely missed by her friends, family, and everyone that knew her.
