Visitation for William Hayes Kennedy, 86, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A family gathering will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sardis Cemetery in Jewett, Texas with Ray Ditto officiating.

Hayes was born March 16, 1935 in Bangs, Texas to parents, William L. Kennedy and Zula (Pike) Kennedy, and passed away May 16, 2021 in Lufkin, Texas. He retired from Eastex Telephone Co-op after 27 years. He loved to fish and was second to none among his RV family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William L. "Jack" Kennedy and Zula (Pike) Kennedy; his brothers, Bobby Lee Kennedy and Loyce Ray Kennedy.

Hayes is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Hancock Kennedy, of Livingston Texas; sons, Kenneth Kennedy and wife Anna of Centerville, Texas, Steve Kennedy and wife Cindy of Kingwood, Texas, David Kennedy and wife Donna of Livingston Texas; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews who all considered him to be their second father. Along with many other relatives and friends.
