Funeral services for Walter Benjamin ""Ben"" Willis age 54 of Livingston will be held Saturday April 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with Dr. Bruce Baker and Rev. James Frazier officiating and interment to follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston.
Ben was born July 10, 1956 to Robert D. Willis and Jerry Jackson Willis in Livingston, Texas, and returned to God April 1, 2011.
After graduation from Livingston High School in 1974, Ben attended Schriener Institute in Kerrville, Texas and later San Jacinto Jr. College. During his studies at SJJC Ben achieved recognition by virtue of being named to the ""Deans List"" for outstanding scholastic achievement for four semesters. After his graduation as top student in the General Motors ASEP Training Program, Ben earned his nickname ""Mr. Goodwrench"" from family and friends for the majority of his life. Ben enjoyed working with his hands, being outdoors, being around his family and friends. Telling stories about hunting and fishing were among his favorite things to do. He enjoyed the love and friendship of many people and did enjoy doing things for others.
Ben was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Willis and is survived by Jerry Willis, (mother), Bob and Julie Willis (brother and sister in law), Susan & Charles Wadle (sister and brother in law), Bill and Brenda Willis (brother and sister in law) and Frankie R. White (Ben' other mother).
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Church Choir or to the charity of your choice.
