Wanda Lee Still Warren departed this earth and entered into God’s Kingdom on June 20, 2026.
Wanda was born at home, on January 26, 1933, in Livingston, Texas to Ray and Daisy Swilley Still, as the baby girl of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Daisy Marie Still and Ray Toomey Still Simmons; and two brothers, Ray Still, Jr. and James Still.
She graduated from Livingston High School in May of 1950, where she enjoyed the band and was a head twirler. During High School, at the age of 15, she surrendered her life to “special service to Christ” at Central Baptist Church and began playing the piano for church services in Missions sponsored by Central Baptist Church. From that time on she played for any church she was affiliated with.
On June 30, 1950, Wanda married Thomas Leroy Warren and went on to have 5 children, four daughters; Theresa Warren Farmer, Debra Warren Nelson, Renae Warren, Vanessa Warren; and one son Thomas (Tommy) Leroy Warren, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 12, 2021. As a mother, she raised her children in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to love, to serve, and to trust in Him.
She studied piano and music at Wharton Junior College and Bible at Angelina College in Lufkin, later. Upon returning to Livingston in 1965, she began teaching private piano lessons and continued teaching for 26 years.
In 1980, she was called by God as an organist to Blanchard Mission on the Lake, then Beacon Bay Mission and felt privileged to teach bible study at Central Baptist Church, Blanchard Baptist Church and Beacon Bay.
She enjoyed singing, playing the piano and spending time with her family. She especially loved quilting, leaving at least one of these treasures with each of her children and grandchildren to cherish.
Wanda joins her husband, her parents, her siblings, her son, her sons-in-law Allen Nelson and James Farmer and her grandsons, Ty Robertson and David Nunez, Jr. in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including her four daughters, 11 grandchildren (Toni Danielle McGowen, Brandon Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Montana Nelson, Jeremy Sylestine, Shawni Waddy, Brittney Smith, John Aaron Wright, Ashton Wright, Dakota Johnson and Tristan Warren), along with 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
While we grieve her passing, we find solace in the hope of Christ’s resurrection and the assurance that we will one day be reunited in God’s Eternal Kingdom.
Family visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Gary Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Bar N Cemetery on the family property.
