Obituary

A Going Home Celebration for the life of Weldon Wayne Renfro, 87, of Livingston, Texas will begin at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. H. Lynn Fontenot, Chaplin at Texas Home Health Hospice officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until the service begins at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation and interment will be held privately.

Weldon Wayne Renfro was born August 30, 1933, in Ace, Texas, the son of Sylvester Dock Renfro and Mae Bell Renfro. He attended grade school in the Livingston area. Weldon served honorably in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1955 until 1963. During his time in the service, he met his wife to be of 50 years - Gail. Weldon and Gail lived for many years in New Jersey where they had one son, Daniel; before returning to his birthplace in Texas where his second son, David, was born. Weldon made his living as an electrician and later as a logger in East Texas. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening in his spare time. Weldon passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on January 19, 2021, at the age of 87 years.

He is survived by his son, David Renfro and wife, Sylvia of Livingston; son, Daniel Renfro and wife, Miranda of Livingston; eight grandchildren, Teresa Renfro, Keenan Renfro, Marayah Thompson, Daelan Thompson,  Sabrena Thompson, and Alyssa Renfro all of Livingston; Steven Renfro and wife, Allene of Watertown, New York; and Griffin Renfro of Prineville, Oregon; two great-grandchildren, McKinley Valdez and Emilia Renfro; sisters, Nola Faye Collins, Bonnie Carroll Gay, and Mary Crumpton all of Livingston; sister-in-law, Betty Renfro of Livingston, sister-in-law, Cass Borchert of Pine Hill, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Carol Humbrecht of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania; and numerous other family and friends.

Weldon is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Renfro; father and mother, Sylvester and Mae Bell Renfro; brother and wife, Leonard and Sadie Renfro; brother, Sylvester Renfro, Jr.; brother, Author M. Renfro; sister, Loline Renfro; brother-in-law, Harold Crumpton; brother-in-law, Lamar Carroll; brother-in-law, James Collins; brother-in-law, George Borchert; brother-in-law, Larry Humbrecht; and sister-in-law, Linda Porter.
