""Sonny"" was born on August 19, 1927, in Groveton, Texas, to parents, Wilborn Everett Stutts, Sr. and Minnie Jewel (Murphy) Stutts. He passed away on September 3, 2012, at VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a past member of the VFW in Grapeland, the American Legion of Grapeland and Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. ""Sonny"" served as a Medic in the Air Force at the End of WWII while he served this great nation of the United States.

One of ""Sonny'"" greatest passions was his love of music. He grew up in a simple time when young people learned to sing or play an instrument to provide family entertainment. He could hear a new song on the radio and be singing it the next day. From singing duos in church with his brother Cy Jo to forming his own country/western band in later years, to playing with the Stutts boys and the Hodges, his love of music was felt by everyone.

While living in Houston, Texas and playing the night clubs he was privileged to have Mickey Gilley' band and Mickey himself sit in with them. He also played with fiddling great Chubby Wise, Frenchie Burke anf the Kershaw Brothers.

His gift of gab, sunny smile and hearty laughter will be missed by all. He never met a stranger. Sonny was one of those people who would give you ""the shirt off his back."" His two favorite seasons were ""deer"" season and ""shrimping"" season and to both he avidly applied himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilborn Everett Stutts, Sr. and Minnie Jewel (Murphy) Stutts; first wife, Leona Avalyn (Dillon) Stutts; brother, Cy Jo Stutts; sister, Sue Sage; granddaughter, Bonnie Galloway; and grandson, Hardy Stutts.

""Sonny"" is survived by his wife, Sherry Stutts of Onalaska; daughters, Rita Galloway and husband, Tom of Azle, Connie McBroom and husband, Donald of Rusk and Patti Smoot and husband, Ronnie of Grapeland; sons, Ronnie Stutts and wife, Ruby of Anahuac and Ricky Stutts and wife, Becky of Magnolia; step children, Kevin Odom and wife, Denise of Lumberton, Eric Odom and wife, Kitty of Shreveport, Louisiana and Ronda Thompson and husband, Geoff of Onalaska; sisters, Nina McDuff of Livingston, Jeannette Zimmer of Baker, Oregon, Gloria Zavalla and Debbie Austin of Wala Wala, Washington; twenty-eight grandchildren; fourty-eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
