William Raymond Knight, age 87 of Livingston, was born on August 25, 1925, in Segno, Texas, to parents John Henry Knight and Cecil Ann Carroll Knight. He passed away on December 19, 2012, in Memorial Medical Center Hospital, in Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Knight served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He retired from NASA as a CPA.
Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Cecil Ann Knight; and his beloved wife, Elfriede Bluecher Knight. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Mae and Jeff Coward; sister, Birdie Mae Overstreet Bearss; niece and husband, Dianna and Jerry Robinson; brother-in-law and wife, Manfred and Erika Bluecher; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Knight at be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Roy Askins will conduct the services. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Leamon Cain, Dave Robinson, Ken Robinson, Kris Overstreet, Manfred Bluecher, Frankie Bluecher, Jerry Bowen and Orbra Cude. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Robinson, Jeff Coward, David Kersh, Gary Hendrix, Rex Hendrix, Mike Pruitt, Jeff Campbell, T. J. Richards and Johnny Crosby. Interment will be held at Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno, Texas, following the chapel service.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston.
