Funeral services for William Edward Locke, 84, of Livingston, Texas will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Charlie Dean and Rev. Chris Knox officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
William "Bill" was born January 13, 1937 in Peru, Indiana to parents, Collins G. Locke and Opal Maxine (Hartgrove) Locke, and passed away July 4, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. Bill and his wife of 45 years, JoAnn, were married in Houston, Texas where they met. They resided in Houston until 1978, when they made the move to Miami County, Indiana, where he bought his father's business, Locke's Garage. He owned and operated Locke's Garage for over 20 years. In addition, Bill drove an over the road 18 wheeler new car hauler, beginning in the mid 60's through the early 90's. Bill and JoAnn retired and came back to Texas, specifically to Livingston, 18 years ago to be closer to their children. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Locke; and step-son, Kenneth McEntyre.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Locke of Livingston; step-sons, Steve McEntyre and wife, Marshia of Livingston and Russell McEntyre and wife, Elizabeth of Bunker Hill, Indiana; step-daughter, Suzanne McGwier of Livingston; son, Billy Locke of Houston; daughter, Melody Locke of Houston; brother, Donald G. Locke and wife, Judy of Michigan; sisters, Delores Stout of Bunker Hill, Indiana, and Nancy Overstreet of Irving, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Sandy Baptist Church.
