William Melvin Marquis

William Melvin Marquis, born August 25, 1951, in Houston, Texas, to Gloria and Graham Marquis, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Graham Marquis, as well as his brothers, Graham and John.

William was a devoted husband to his wife, Susan Marquis of 44 years. They enjoyed serving the community through their business and privately donating to charities. He took great pride in his work throughout life. William found his greatest joy in the time spent working the land he lived with his wife. Side by side they built a life and legacy. Whether teaching life lessons, sharing a dad joke, or simply being present, William’s steady presence was a source of comfort and support to those closest to him. He spent a lifetime working from sunup to sundown. When he was not working, he enjoyed time at the lake waterskiing, and fishing.

William is survived by his Wife Susan, Sister Patricia, brother-in-law Randy Randel, and sister-in-law Connie Randel. He is also survived by his son Matt & wife Amy, his stepchildren Brian Cole, Cody Cole and wife Lisa, and Kimberly Cole. His grandchildren Travis Cole, Ryan Marquis, Kylie Cole, Abby Marquis, and Katlyn Cole. As well as his nieces and nephews.

William will be remembered for his hard work, integrity, and deep care for his family. Those who knew him will carry forward his memory in the values he lived by and the love he shared so freely. He will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at Cochran Funeral Home Onalaska Chapel at 11 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
