William Glenn Wimberly I, born April 24, 1944 to Pauline McGue Inman and Clarence Inman in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of thirty-nine years, LaVern, sisters, Barbara and Patsy and aunt and uncle, Ellen & Tom Boshers.
He is survived by wife, Linda Peterson Wimberly of Livingston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bert and Marie Peterson of Huntsville; sons, Tim and wife, Cynthia Wimberly of Livingston, Todd and wife, Shannon Wimberly of Tomball, daughter Ginger and husband, Johnnie Golsby of Magnolia, daughter, Randi Lampson of Livingston, and son, Ryan Lampson of Huntsville; grandchildren, Christian and husband, Miguel Paramo, Abigail, William II, Dusti, Reagan, Emma and Jacob; great grandchildren, Felicity, Andres and Areli; niece, Sandra Williamson and husband, Gary of Odessa; nephews, Glyn Lang of Odessa, Anthony Lang of Arizona, Kenneth Lang of Kempner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Ray Skaggs; nephews, Randy Tolliver and Rodney Tolliver; and brother-in-law, Ronald Emmons; niece, Kathryn Clifton and niece, Debra Siebels.
Bill was a loving, caring, kind and generous husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a passion for his family and friends. He was a mentor and advisor to many, and touched so many lives. He moved to St. Louis, Missouri and began working for General Motors while going to night classes. Later in 1972, he moved his family to Houston. After earning an Associates Degree in Business Administration, he started Wimberly Construction in 1976, a successful construction company for over thirty years. He moved the family to Lake Livingston in 1983. After semi-retirement, he continued to work with his children in the family business.
He was beloved by so many, and if you were to ask one of his grandchildren, they would say ""He is the best Pawpaw in the world"".
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, TX. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Cochran Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Special Olympics or a choice of a charity.
