William H. Young Sr., 87 of Livingston passed away Monday February 23, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday February 26, 2009 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Frank Hood and Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Livingston, where Military Honors will be given by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568
William was born October 16, 1921 in Goliad, Texas to parents William Henry Young and Lucy B. Mullins Young. He served our country proudly for 8 years during WWII in the United States Navy. He then worked for the United States Post office for 20 years before retiring. William also taught Defensive Driving for 2 years at Angelina College in Lufkin and 12 years in Livingston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step sons Riley Bolton, Larry Bolton, and Eddie Bolton, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Williams is survived by his wife of 46 years Glynn Young of Livingston, son William Henry Young Jr. and wife Tamara of Livingston, step daughter Linda Bolton of Livingston, step sons Wallace S. Bolton and wife Linda of Mississippi, Irby Bolton and wife Carmen of Livingston, and William E. ""Billy"" Bolton of Livingston, sister Mildred Casey of Columbus, and niece Diane Livingston also of Columbus. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Henry Young Sr., Irby Bolton, Billy Bolton, Bobby Downey, Scott Downey, Scott Downey, William Henry Young III, Michael Young and Ronnie Reynolds.
