Mr. Bedwell was born April 29, 1925 to Tillman and Elsie (Ward) Bedwell in Morganton, Arkansas. He passed away November 12, 2014 in Livingston, Texas after a short illness. He was baptized and a member of the Carlisle Baptist Church in Carlisle, Texas. He married Catherine Clark on August 21, 1946 in Heber Springs, Arkansas and they were married for 68 years. Willie and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1954. He owned and operated a roofing company for 36 years and retired to Carlisle in 1990.
Willie enjoyed life. He loved country music, dancing, trail rides, hunting, fishing and his cows. But most of all, he enjoyed his family and friends. He never met a stranger. You always felt like he was an old friend after the first meeting. You would find Willie helping his friends, neighbors, or strangers alike. He loved to tell stories of all kinds. He is loved and missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Troy Bedwell; sisters, Grace Walker, Odean Nunley, and Gladys Hunter; son, Larry Bedwell; daughter, Glenda Bedwell McKay; and grandson, Jefferson Forisha.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Bedwell; daughters, Charlotte Brokmeyer, Patsy Forisha and husband James; brother, Earl Bedwell; grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Penny McManus and husband Shane, Janise Jurica and husband Rick, Christie Snider and husband Gary; great grandchildren, Dakota Caves, Jessica Jurica, Justin Jurica, Brittney Snider, Ashlynn Snider, Darci Snider; step-grandchildren, Corey McManus, and Casey McManus; step-great-great grandchild, Amelia McManus; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Rick Jurica, Shane McManus, Brian Kernchan, Gary Snider, Randy Lofton, and Derek Cotrone.
