IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zachary David
Smithee
July 16, 1996 – May 21, 2025
A memorial service honoring Zachary David Smithee, 28, of Livingston, Texas will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., located at 2571 Oakdale Loop, Livingston, Texas 77351.
Zachary was born July 16, 1996 in Dallas, Texas and passed away May 21, 2025 in Livingston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gus Pritchard and Eunis Smithee.
Zach grew up in Lindale, Texas, went to college at East Texas Baptist University where he got a bachelor's degree in business, spent most of his adult life living in Colorado and then spent the last few months living on the lake in Livingston, Texas. Zach spent his career working in Human Resources as a Senior Compensation Analyst. He was always known for his analytical mind, kind heart and great humor.
Zach balanced a successful career with a deep passion for the outdoors. He could often be found rock climbing, hiking scenic trails, camping or planning his next travel adventure to explore new places with his wife, Taylor. He & Taylor especially loved visiting National Parks throughout the US. When not in nature, he enjoyed immersing himself in video games and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. He was a cocktail enthusiast and amazing dog dad. Zach's enthusiasm for life and the people around him left a lasting impression, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Taylor Bankston; his pug, Mellow; parents, Angela and Chris Smithee; brother and sister-in-law, Caleb Smithee and Audry; niece and nephew, Charlotte and Jonah; grandmothers, Sharon Pritchard and Doris Smithee; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Tracy Bankston; and brother-in-law, Eric Bankston; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Park Foundation, online.
